A PIECE OF AMERICAN HISTORY

Nestled within the serene Deerfield Valley of Vermont's Green Mountain National Forest (and only two miles from the base of Mount Snow), our family owned and operated inn continues an important American tradition of friendly hospitality begun over 150 years ago. Originally built in 1846 as a stage coach stop and tavern, the West Dover Inn has been lovingly restored and now provides 12 quiet, luxury accommodations as well as modern and memorable dining in the 1846 Tavern and Restaurant.

Enchanted by the summer's cool clear days, the autumn's brilliant colors and the winter’s quiet snowfall, the West Dover Inn brings to life the best of Vermont. Close to everything, yet far from anything, the inn is an ideal destination for a perfect New England vacation. Surrounded by Vermont's best skiing, snowboarding, golfing, hiking, kayaking, horseback riding and shopping destinations, your time in West Dover promises to be relaxing and refreshing.

Beyond the rooms, the inn carries a rich written history steeped in poetic tradition begun more than 100 years ago. The poem, continually written by each innkeeper, tells of the inn’s fascinating journey through the centuries - preserving a living piece of American history. We encourage you to ask Phil at the front desk to share this legacy with you.

Thank you for being a part of our home and we hope you will come to consider it your own.
